Hi! I’m Christi.

I’m a mama, wife, friend, and nature lover from Shakopee, MN. I grew up in Duluth, MN so the shores of Lake Superior are sacred to me. I’m a Swiftie since Tim McGraw. I drink mushroom coffee every morning. I love board games, escape rooms, and movies that help people feel deeply and think beyond themselves. I cherish deep conversations caring people. I am learning to be kind to myself.

I started this company in Nov 2022 after miscarriages, deaths of close loved ones, in the midst of parenting littles and navigating grief, depression, anxiety, and deployments.

My Husband

Let’s be real. This company would not exist without my husband. We met the first day of Calculus II at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. He served over 21 years in the Air National Guard through the 148th FW. We married in 2010. He can fix anything. He is my home.

He is my best friend. Every moment I’ve struggled with self doubt, he has helped ground me, calm me, and assure me that I matter, that my work matters and I’m making a difference in the world, even when I can’t see it. That’s my guy.

My Kiddos

My kiddos are the best. They are each uniquely and wonderfully themselves. I cannot believe how incredibly lucky I am that I get to be their mama. I wrote the book I Love You When I’m Happy And I Love You When I’m Sad to be able to say to them always:

  • When you notice something is off with me, it is not your fault
  • I love you always
  • I will take care of myself, and I will take care of you too

My Liam inspires me to always dig deep into the things that I love, and to help other people shine bright.

My Niko inspires me to always be creative, generous, and thoughtful.

My Oliver inspires me to always embrace my authentic self.

My Why

During one of the hardest holiday seasons of my life, I started asking myself:

How can I help people not feel the way I feel?

How can I help people more seen, more connected, and less alone?

I created my first “Christmas is Complicated” Collection - greeting cards that I always wished existed. I’ve always been dissatisfied by the lack of vulnerable, heartfelt cards that acknowledge both the hard and the hope of grief and mental health struggle.

Cards soon expanded to include sympathy cards that are courageously vulnerable, encouragement cards that are deeply intentional, and keepsake prompt cards that are uniquely powerful.

For every card purchased, I donate a card to encourage someone who needs it. In this way, we partner with every customer to double their impact of spreading kindness.

Now we have expanded our offerings to include stickers, prints, and a children’s book.

As a digital artist, all my creations are hand drawn on my iPad.
