Child Loss Flower Wreath: Mother’s Day Card
Child Loss Flower Wreath: Mother’s Day Card
This card was made for someone mourning the loss of a child on Mother’s Day. This could be an adult child, young child, infant, still born, or miscarriage. As someone who has experienced the loss of several children through miscarriage, Mother’s Day can make that loss harder to bear. If your loss is public knowledge, well-meaning people can say things that are incredibly hurtful or careless in an effort to “make it better”. Additionally, sharing space with people who know about your loss and say nothing to you can be equally as hurtful.
I hope that every mom grieving the loss of a child or children will feel more seen, more connected, and feel like there is permission to exist in her reality. When the societal pressure of what Mother’s Day is “supposed” to look like doesn’t match your reality, it can feel like you have to pretend like everything is ok, even when you feel shattered inside.
The cover has a pastel pink background, in the center is a floral wreath. The inside inscription says, “Grieving the loss of a child during Mother’s Day celebrations is a burden most people don’t understand. I’m so sorry for the hurtful things well-meaning people may say to you this year. Be extra gentle with yourself. Sending you all my love.”
