This encouragement card was made for someone who has a difficult relationship with their Mother and it’s Mother’s Day. Societally, we are taught all mothers are nurturing and selflessly care for their children. Unfortunately, this is not the relational dynamic between all mothers and their children. Some mothers may not have the capacity to “mother” their child well. This dysfunction in the relationship can become more potent as the child reaches adulthood. 

Unfortunately, those that never had the mothering they desired and deserved can feel isolated and like they have to pretend their reality isn’t what it is. They mourn the loss silently and alone.

I hope that every person who receives this card will feel more seen, more connected, and less alone in their grief.
